How can I rent a storage unit with U-Storage?
You can complete the rental process 100% digitally or in person at our locations in Bogotá, Medellín, Barranquilla, and Cartagena.
You simply need to select your unit size, present your government-issued ID, and sign the contract to receive immediate access to your space.
For corporate clients, we require the company’s Tax ID (RUT) and the legal representative’s government-issued ID. Our process is optimized to ensure that entrepreneurs and businesses can secure a professional storage solution quickly, without bureaucratic hurdles.
Do you offer monthly contracts, or is a long-term commitment required?
At U-Storage, we specialize in flexible, month-to-month contracts that adapt to the pace of your life or business. We do not impose long-term commitments, allowing you to renew on a monthly basis or cancel the service whenever you no longer need the space.
Can I change the size of my storage unit if my needs change?
Yes, flexibility is our priority. You can request to switch to a larger or smaller unit at any time, subject to availability at your specific location. This ensures your self-storage investment remains efficient, as you only pay for the square footage you actually use.
What on-site security measures protect my unit?
Our facilities feature an advanced security ecosystem that includes high-definition CCTV, 24/7 monitoring, and digital access controls. Each storage unit is private, guaranteeing that you—and only you—have full control over who enters your space.
Does the storage service include insurance coverage for my belongings?
Yes, all our rentals include a comprehensive insurance policy provided by BBVA, offering you solid financial protection against unforeseen events. This additional layer of protection is part of our commitment to providing the highest security standards in the Colombian self-storage market.
Who holds the key or padlock to my storage unit?
Only you. No U-Storage staff member is authorized to hold the keys to leased units. According to the contract, the customer is solely responsible for controlling access to the space and managing the keys.
How do I know what size storage unit I need for my move?

Do the storage units have water and electricity?
No, our units do not have water or electricity, as they are intended exclusively for storage purposes.
What items CANNOT be stored?
For your safety and the safety of all our customers, storing the following items is STRICTLY PROHIBITED:
- Explosives and substances prone to spontaneous combustion.
- Firearms or ammunition.
- Contraband.
- Live or dead animals.
- Perishable or improperly packaged food items.
- Hallucinogens or narcotics.
- Cotton bales.
- Flammable gases, toxic materials, or highly flammable substances.
